Ok, we are here. I had a really clever post all typed up, but then I screwed it up and lost it. That's what happens after being up for 24 hours, spending a total of 13.5 hours on two airplanes, spending another 5 hours in two airports, before trying to push and shove your way through the Beijing airport with ever single one of the 1.8 billion Chinese citizens arriving in on flights at the exact same time you did.
Here is a picture of "the view of the Forbidden City" that we were told we have from our room. It is not really the view we have, it is the view after you zoom in all the way with a 12x zoom camera. There are some other buildings the other way that look kind of the same, so I guess that might be the Forbidden City instead. At this point, I'm more interested in crawling onto the slab of concrete that they threw some sheets on and call a bed for a nap than asking the people at the front desk if we have to look waaaay over this way, or waaaay over that way for the view of the Forbidden City.
Time for a quick nap then a call home to see how Maks and Tiffany are doing.

You are so funny. Glad to see your sense of humor didn't get snatched away by the crowd. Hats off to ya for making the long plane ride. Woohoo!!!!
You made it!!! YEA! Looking so forward to sharing in your journey! I'll show pics to Olivia, too. I think she's at an age where she'll actually enjoy it. I can tell her part of her adoption story as we read yours!
Love, Lori (John & Olivia, too)
