Temple of Heaven

Today we did some touring. We went to the Temple of Heaven, ate lunch at a local place, walked around the area (lake area), and then went to the Drum Tower. It was just Kevin and I today. When we got back to the hotel from touring another family was just arriving and we are expecting another family later this evening. Lunch was really good. We had a beef and garlic dish, a pork and green bean dish, and a celery, cashew and onion dish. I even tried them all and the only one I wasn't crazy about was the celery dish (that's pretty good for the picky eater that I am). I amazed at all the bikes we have seen and there is a ton of traffic (a little scary). We are looking forward to doing more touring in Beijing tomorrow. This is the Drum Tower. It was used to let everyone know what time it was. Here are the drums.

These are the steps we climbed up. You cannot really tell by the picture but one step was like two of our steps and steep. It was a difficult climb.

This is the inside of one of the buildings at the Temple of Heaven.

This was also at the Temple of Heaven. It was really quite beautiful.
This was another area at the Temple of Heaven. There is a very large park area around the outside of all the buildings.
This is a blow drier made in China. This is also how I started my day off this morning. Trying to figure out how I was going to get my hair dry and brush it out at the same time. I think we all know I have a hard time drying my hair and using a round brush at home. Now imagine me using this vaccuum looking thing.
